Thrissur: Mehul Praveen of Class IV of Hari Sri Vidya Nidhi School has secured 12th rank in the Kerala zone and was awarded a medal of distinction in the National Science Olympiad conducted in November 2018. Shreya T. Varma and Veronika Paul Theresa also received medal of distinction for securing the 25th rank at the zonal Level. Aditya M. Binu, Abhijith V. Menon and Ameena Samah of Class IV bagged the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively for their performance at the school level. From Class III, David Suresh, Manas Krishna S and Keerthana M.V won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
KG annual day at Chinmaya
Kochi: Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, celebrated its kindergarten annual day on Saturday. Fr. Antony Madavanakadu, principal, Sacred Heart CMI Public School, Thevara, the chief guest, told the parents to keep alive the sense of wonder in children. Principal Prathiba V. and the vice-principal Mini K. spoke. Maggie Vaz, kindergarten in charge, presented the annual report."Seasons" was the theme of the programme in which students showcased their talents through oration, dance, drama and music.
Flower festival at Greets
Kochi: The Greets Public School, Kaloor, took part in the Lulu Flower Festival held from 14th to 17th February. Students from all classes participated in the event and made flower pots with used plastic bottles with the help of their teachers. Each class was given the task of making flower pots of a particular size and shape. Around 500 artistically arranged pots were exhibited at the stall.
Evening of melody and music
Kochi: Global Public School, Kochi, organized Tarang, an evening of melody and music. The musical extravaganza had students of grades 1 to 8 participating as part of their 'Grow with Music' curriculum in association with Shankar Mahadevan Academy. A total of 900 students showcased a repertoire of 16 songs in 5 different languages, in the presence of the chief guest Shankar Mahadevan. The celebrated music virtuoso enthralled the audience with some of his famous melodies.
Blossom kids fest winners
Malappuram: CBSE Sahodaya School Complex, Malappuram, conducted Blossom '19 kids fest of Nilambur cluster at Benchmarks International School, Manjeri. A total of 925 tiny tots from 11 schools in the region participated in the fest. P.V. Anvar, MLA, inaugurated the fest. Sahodaya president M. Abdul Nazar presided over the function. The one-day fest was arranged on 10 stages with 44 events varying from action song, story-telling, painting with crayons, handwriting and various dance items. Goodwill English School, Pookkottumpadam, bagged the overall title for the third time.
