Hyderabad: Leaders of the All India Majlis-eInquilab-e-Millat raised objection for cutting short their relay hunger strike by the police for only four hours in spite of the High Court’s order which granted permission to hold the rally for a whole day. The party has conducted the protest on the premises of its office at Moghalpura.

Party general secretary Mohammed Abdul Quddus Gouri said BJP bigwigs and Union ministers are branding them as traitors and anti-nationals for agitating against the CAA, NPR and the NPR. Rajasthan Chief Minster Mr Ashok Ghelot and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan are also against the CAA and they passed resolutions in their respective Assemblies. “Will you call them as one who is against India,” he asked.

He said the NDA government led by the BJP failed on all fronts. Due to poor policies the common people are suffering. “Youths are losing jobs. A large section of the people is not able to get two-time food properly. Mothers and infants are affected by malnutrition. There is no proper sanitation and shelter for the poor,” he said adding that a genius person of the BJP like Mr Subramanian Swami had even said the GST was the ‘biggest madness of the century’.

Mr Gouri said the Modi government, instead of focusing to redress these issues, wishes to construct detention centres. “Britishers had built a cellular jail in Andaman and Nicobar Islands to send into exile freedom fighters and our government wanted to build detention centres all over the India to detain Indians. The people of Indian origin SCs, STs and BSc stand united against these unnecessary exercises,” he asserted.

Party treasurer Quavi Abbasi claimed that the party had planned a 10-day relay hunger strike and on denial of permission by the police, had approached the High Court, which granted one-day permission and ordered the Police authority to grant permission for one day from sunrise to sunset. However, the police authority granted permission from 11 am to 2 pm. “We are contemplating to file a contempt petition against the police authorities. Party vice president Moulana Syed Hamid Hussain Shuttari, joint secretary Rahmath Ali and Shiraz Khan also addressed the gathering.
