Beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya continued to dominate the headlines last week too. Though the Kingfisher House in Mumbai failed to get any bidders, in a relief of sorts Mr Mallya got some more time to appear before Enforcement Directorate. Here’s how the events unfolded:

March 13: Mallya, tweets: “I am being hunted down by media in UK. Sadly they did not look in the obvious place. I will not speak to media.”

March 14: ED reportedly uncovers prima facie evidence of money — borrowed from banks by liquor baron Vijay Mallya — transferred out of India to various accounts under different heads.

March 17: Vijay Mallya seeks more time for making a personal appearance before the ED, saying he will not be able to keep the date pursuant to the summons issued against him.

March 17: Auction of the Kingfisher House, once the headquarters of Vijay Mallya’s defunct airline, proves to be a flop show with no bids coming in, presumably due to litigation fears.

March 18: Enforcement Directorate issues fresh summons to liquor baron
Vijay Mallya to make a personal appearance before its investigating
officials on April 2 — in connection with its money laundering probe in the over
Rs 900 crore IDBI loan fraud case.
