In-laws, cousins back actress: She’s loving and capable

Ambarish did a lot of good work for the people of Mandya and they have lot of affection for him, which was reflected on Wednesday.

Mysuru: Not only did Ms Sumalatha Ambareesh receive a huge welcome from the people of Mandya as she filed her nomination as an independent from the constituency on Wednesday, but also the full backing of her in-laws in Mysuru and Doddarasinakere in the district, who feel she is entirely capable of continuing her late husband, actor/politician, Ambareesh's work .

Happy with her decision to contest the Lok Sabha poll, they hoped  she would win with the love of  people of Mandya like Ambareesh did. Said the late former minister's brother, 76-year- old, Anand Kumar who lives in the house of his maternal grandfather, Piteel Chowdaiah at Ballal circle in Mysuru , "When people of Mandya approached her, she did not take any decision immediately but discussed it with the family. We are all happy to support her. She is a loving lady and capable. We are confident she will do well.  

Ambarish did a lot of good work for the people of Mandya and they have lot of affection for him, which was reflected on Wednesday." Ambarish's cousin, Amar who lives in Doddarasinakere in Mandya district, said, "She is a good person. All the 5,000 people in 1250 houses in our village fully support  Sumalatha. All the fans of Ambareesh in Mandya are also with her. She will win for sure. We are confident  she will continue the good work done by  Ambareesh and  will bring even  more development to the district."

Ms Sumalatha herself told reporters after offering prayers to goddess Chamundeswari at Chamundi hills in Mysuru, before heading to file her nomination, "Every time Ambareesh filed his nominations, he first came to Chamundi hills.  He is with me. Since I am doing this with good intentions I have no reason to feel tense."
