Visakhapatnam: GVMC commissioner Pravin Kumar directed the officials to focus more on the water needs of the city during the summer months.

On Wednesday, Mr. Kumar visited the Maddi reservoir on Gosthani river that also receives water from Tatipudi reservoir of Vizianagaram district. He visited the pumping station and made some suggestions to the staff. Later, Mr. Kumar headed to the Gambheeram Gedda reservoir and enquired about the water availability in the reservoir.

Executive Engineer (WSM), Pallamraju, informed that there would be sufficient water supply from the Gosthani river and Tatipudi reservoir to meet the water needs of the city. However, he said that the GVMC would face some water crisis if there are no rains after a month. Mr. Kumar also visited three sites for the proposed waste-to-energy plant. Chief city planner, D. Venkata Ratnam accompanied him.
