GHMC told to dispose LRS applications soon

The process includes scrutiny, issue of fee intimation letter, processing of shortfall submitted documents, issue of proceedings, etc.

Hyderabad: The municipal administration and urban development principal secretary, A. Aravind Kumar, on Friday, conducted a review meeting and instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials to take up the disposal of Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications immediately. 

The process includes scrutiny, issue of fee intimation letter, processing of shortfall submitted documents, issue of proceedings, etc. He instructed the zonal city planners to ensure that the applications are disposed within the specified time frame since the last date of processing is April 30. He instructed the zonal commissioners to organise LRS melas on April 28 and April 30 and asked the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) to extend their support for any technical assistance required.

Arvind Kumar has interacted with officials and had a detailed discussions with them regarding the budget and annual accounts, revenue and expenditure, improvement of the GHMC parks and various other civic related issues. He has instructed them to resolve the grievances received from petitioners and citizens on a priority basis to garner a good reputation for the organisation. He asked them to focus on getting maximum revenue from online/ digitalisation and minimise cash collection and take up various avenues to improve revenue collection. He also asked the officials to concentrate on social media with a dedicated team to improve grievance redressal.
