B. Vijaysen Reddy to be Telangana HC judge

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended advocate B. Vijaysen Reddy as judge of the Telangana High Court.
The collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India S.A. Bobde, on Monday approved a proposal of the collegium of the Tela-ngana High Court made six months ago to elevate Vijaysen Reddy.
The High Court collegium had sent the names of three advocates to the Supreme Court for elevation as judges.
The Supreme Court collegium approved the name of Vijaysen Reddy. The recommendation will be sent to President Ram Nath Kovind through the Centre for his approval.
Vijaysen Reddy is the son of the late Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, who served as Chief Justice of the Madras and Kerala High Courts and was chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of undivided AP. Justice Subhashan Reddy retired as Lok Ayukta in October 2017.
Vijaysen Reddy’s grandfather B. Aga Reddy, who is now 104, was a high ranking official in AP.
Vijaysen Reddy was born on August 22, 1970, and completed his LLB from PRR Law College at Hyderabad. He enrolled as advocate in 1994. He has practised as a lawyer in the subordinate courts, tribunals, the AP High Court and the Supreme Court and has argued in thousands of cases.
In his 25 years as an advocate, he has practised in all branches of the law — constitutional, civil, criminal, service and others. He has trained junior advocates and 20 juniors are currently learning ad-vocacy skills in his office.
A keen sportsman, he has won prizes in tennis, table tennis and swimming.
