GUNTUR: AP minister for civil supplies P. Pulla Rao conducted surprise inspection in the APSR-TC bus station at Guntur on Saturday. He warned of stern actions against violation of MRP, quality and quantity and substandard food products. He directed APSRTC officials to remove food items without proper details with immediate effect. Mr Pulla Rao with officials came to NTR Bus Station and carried checks in the stalls. He interacted with the bus commuters and inquired about the collection of prices in the stalls.

Mr Pulla Rao wondered over the difference in the weight of popcorn, chips and other food stuffs. He further noticed about the absence of manufacturing date and expiry date details on the packets. He directed APSRTC officials to remove all the packets from the stalls which have no details. He said that all the food packets should be properly packed with mentioned quality and quantity. Commuters asked the minister that the stalls would collect extra price to the MRP if the checks stopped in the future and sought continuation of checks by the officials.
