Vijayawada: TD fails to pay its office power bills
The NRI landlord informed that the premises were given on lease to the TD district office in 2009.
Vijayawada: TD leaders have not paid the due electricity bills, after using a building, in MG Road, for more than a decade as their party’s district office. The party office was vacated from the premises, without paying the electricity bill dues of around Rs 2,79,000 to the owner. Related to this, NRI Potluri Sridhar addressed mediapersons here on Monday and alleged that the district TD leaders have not paid the pending electricity bills since a long time.
Mr Sridhar expressed a doubt over how the officials avoided taking action against the ruling TD leaders and why the electricity connection was not removed till date. In spite of repeated reminders, the TD leaders were reluctant to pay the power bill dues, owner Potluri Sridhar said.
The NRI landlord informed that the premises were given on lease to the TD district office in 2009. The owner alleged that huge amount, pertaining to lease, was also pending and was settled recently when two TD leaders turned mediators.
He recalled that the Electricity Department would disconnect the power if a consumer does not pay power bill on time.
Mr Sridhar said that action should be taken against the Electricity Department officer concerned for having a soft corner towards the ruling party, paving the way for misuse of funds.
The building owner appealed to the TD leaders to pay the power bill dues immediately and said that he would not return for his duty, till the TD pays the dues.
