Chennai: Strongly coming down on the indifferent approach and 'insensitive remarks' of the ruling AIADMK government in tackling the unprecedented water crisis across Tamil Nadu and Chennai in particular, DMK president M K Stalin on Thursday urged the Edappadi K Palaniswami regime to accept the offer of water made by his Kerala counterpart, Pinarayi Vijayan.

In a statement, Stalin said the Tamil Nadu government offhand rejecting Kerala government's humanitarian offer was highly condemnable. People having to wait 20 days to 25 days to get a tanker of water organised by Chennai Metrowater after making online bookings was deplorable.

Urging Palaniswami to bring a special resolution on the first day of the Assembly session itself on June 28, discuss it thoroughly, and take steps to comprehensively mitigate the water crisis, Stalin said the DMK will cooperate in all such endeavours.
