Nellore: Prasanna Venkateswara marches on chariot

Nellore: The processional deities of Lord Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy and his consorts were taken out on a chariot at Sri Prasanna Venkates-wara Swamy temple in Appalayagunta, Tirupati.
The imperial parade on the Mada streets to the accompaniment of Bhakti bhajans, kolatas and devotees chanting Govinda, Govinda and dragging the divine Ratham was a cosmic spectacle for the devotees who gathered in large numbers.
Sri Prasanna Venkateswara was seated on the colourfully decorated wooden chariot during the fête, as devotees flocked to pull the rope of the chariot.
On the occasion, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) made elaborate security arrangements with the help of police, ‘Srivari Sevakulu’ and vigilance sleuths to prevent any untoward incidents during the procession.
The chariot was tastefully decorated with different varieties of flowers, flags and festoons. The dance troupes added glamour to the procession.
TTD JEO B. Lakshmikantham, Temple Dy EO Jhansi Rani, AEO Subramanyam, Superintendent Gopala Krishna Reddy, and others were also present.
