EC bribery case: Sukesh Chandrashekhar denies cheating charges
The case pertains to Sukesh allegedly cheating a kitchen utensil manufacture of Rs 2.5 lakh.
COIMBATORE: Sukesh Chandrashekhar, lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi for allegedly acting as a middleman for AIADMK (Amma) leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran to bribe the Election Commission (EC), was produced in a Coimbatore court on Thursday. He was issued a 60-page charge sheet when he was produced in the court on July 6 before judicial magistrate-II Raj Kumar. The Delhi police brought him to Coimbatore on a transit warrant and produced him before judge Raj Kumar on June 8 in connection with a cheating case.
The case, registered by the city cyber- crime police in 2010, pertains to Sukesh allegedly cheating a kitchen utensil manufacture of Rs 2.5 lakh.
The Delhi police then took Sukesh to Tihar prison and brought him back to Coimbatore for the third time on Thursday morning at around 5.30 am. He was kept in Peelamedu police station for five hours and brought before judge Raj Kumar at around 10.30 am.
When asked about the cheating case, Sukesh denied the charges and said that it was a fake complaint. The magistrate ordered Sukesh under judicial custody to be produced before the court on August 3. The Delhi police then took Sukesh back to Tihar prison.
