Ganta Srinivasa Rao in trouble over land deal
Mr Srinivasa Rao resigned as director of the company in February 2014.
Visakhapatnam: In another jolt to HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao of TDP, former chairman of Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha (District Central Library) and senior leader of TD Thota Nagesh has filed a complaint against Pratyusha Associates, the company which was once owned by the minister and his family members with the special investigating team (SIT) probing the tampering of land records and land grabbing on Thursday.
Though Mr Srinivasa Rao resigned as director of the company in February 2014, the complaint by Thota Nagesh became a topic of discussion in political circles. Thota Nagesh, in his complaint, asked the SIT to probe how the company was still in possession of land that belonged to district library and worth Rs 100 crore at the Prahladapuram area in the city.
Talking to newsmen, Thota Nagesh said that Pratyusha signed an MoU with the state government to develop a multi-complex in the library premises in 2009. The land was given on a 33 years lease. As per the MoU, the company was to build the library in a 30,000 square feet area and remaining 1.2 lakh sft for multi-complex. The company, taking over the possession of the land in 2009, did not start any work. The lease agreement was cancelled in 2014.
