Hyderabad police arrest gang of four for robbery
Police said the gang targeted commuters on isolated stretches close to the Outer Ring Road and robbed them of cash and valuables.
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested four youths, on charges of being involved in robberies. The suspects are M. Vijay Kumar Yadav alias Vijji (21), M. Ankith (20), B. Satish Reddy (22) and P. Tukaram (20).
Tukaram is a final year degree student of Saiteja Degree College in Kompally, Vijay Kumar and Ankith were security guards at Samasti International School in Patancheru and Satish Reddy is jobless.
Police said the gang targeted commuters on isolated stretches close to the Outer Ring Road and robbed them of cash and valuables.
On Wednesday night, during routine vehicle checking on the national highway, police intercepted two bikes. When the riders could not provide documents or prove their identities, they were taken to the police station. The gang admitted to committing robberies in Medchal, Dundigal and Kukatpally police limits and in Medak district.
Police said they had seized bikes, six phones and cash, worth Rs 3.5 lakh from them.
