Konark sun temple to have sound and light programme

Bhubaneswar: After Dhauli, the Odisha state tourism department has decided to start the light and sound show at the world famous sun temple at Konark in Odisha’s Puri district to attract more tourists. This was informed by Odisha culture minister Ashok Panda on Thursday. The trial of the project which is designed with the joint efforts of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Odisha tourism department was held on Wednesday in the presence of culture minister Ashok Panda and revenue minister Maheswar Mohanty.
The show has been designed with 3D projection. As many as 250 tourists can enjoy it simultaneously for which eight high-definition laser projects have been put up. The 45-minute show will describe the glory behind the construction of temple, story of Dharmapada and Samba and reason of decay of the shrine. Visitors can hear the sound using wi-fi earphone in three languages — English, Hindi and Odia. The background voice for the show is given by Kabir Bedi in English, Sekhar Suman in Hindi and Bijay Mohanty in Odia.
