Chennai: CoP rewards police for catching thieves

The arrest led to the recovering of 11 sovereigns of stolen gold jewels.

Chennai: City police commissioner A.K. Viswanathan rewarded and appreciated police personnel for catching thieves, on Friday.

A.K. Viswanathan called head constable Venugopal and home guard Vinoth Kumar to his office in Vepery and rewarded them for nabbing Kolkata-based burglars during night rounds in MKB Nagar on July 15.

The arrest led to the recovering of 11 sovereigns of stolen gold jewels. The CoP also rewarded patrol car driver,  constable Vinoth, attached to Aminjikarai police station and friend of police Balamurugan for chasing armed robbers in the locality. They subdued two robbers and handed them over to Aminjikarai police.
