Ready to face any fact check, says Galla Jayadev
He said that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had given six assurances on February 20, 2014 on the floor of the Rajya Sabha.
Vijayawada: Stating that he was neither tinkering with nor twisting or tweaking the facts, Mr Jayadev said that his facts were unadorned and he was ready for any challenge from anybody, including the Prime Minister. He said that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had given six assurances on February 20, 2014 on the floor of the Rajya Sabha.
They are Special Category Status for five years, industrial incentives on the lines of 11 states, assistance to backward districts on the lines of Bundelkhand and KBK districts, amendment for Polavaram i.e., to bring back seven mandals to AP, distribution of assets and liabilities to be completed satisfactorily, and revenue deficit between the appointed day and acceptance of the 14th Finance Commission recommendations to be compensated in 2014-15. Referring to Article 4 of the Constitution, Mr Jayadev said that when any state is bifurcated under Article 3 — AP was divided under this Article — then supplemental, incidental and consequential measures can be taken by Parliament.
