Students were making do with four rooms belonging to the primary school. Around 900 students are enrolled at the degree college.
The minister, who was accompanied by MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, said the government would construct a building for the junior college costing Rs 3 crore.
“Half the amount will be made available by Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi from his constituency development fund while the remaining will be given by the government,” he said.
He said Rs 5 crore had been sanctioned for the degree college.
“Due to some small issues, the works could not be started. Nevertheless, we are preparing a master plan of the project and the degree and junior college buildings will be completed before the beginning of the next academic year,” he said.
