Adilabad: After raising the inclusion of Lambadas in the ST list during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Adilabad BJP MP Soyam Bapurao has now asked Adivasis to obstruct forest staff if they try to snatch podu lands that they have been cultivating for a long time. “If forest staff plant saplings under the Haritha Haram project in podu lands, uproot the plants,” said Mr Soyam Bapurao.

He made the statement while referring to the Kolam Gondi incident wherein the Kolam families were evicted by the forest officials from forest land which they have been cultivating for a long time.

“The day is not far when I will get a chance to meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss and resolve the podu land issue and violation of the rights of the Adivasis,” the BJP MP said.

“The Central government has written a letter to Mr Chandra-sekhar Rao on the podu land and the violation of Adivasis rights after we met the Union tribal minister Arjun Munda and explained the situation. The Chief Minister had promised to resolve the podu issue,” said Mr Soyam Bapurao.
