Hyderabad: In view of incessant rains that have been lashing the state, TPCC chief and MP A. Revanth Reddy on Friday asked all party leaders and cadre to join rescue operations in their respective locations.

He said that rivers, canals and lakes were in spate and some streams were overflowing. It is time to mingle with colony residents and help them, especially in flood-hit localities.

"A number of low-lying areas are marooned in Hyderabad and several districts. Children and elders are having a tough time because of waterlogging. Some of our leaders and workers have started providing food, drinking water and other basic amenities to the people," Revanth Reddy said.

TPCC working president B. Mahesh Goud said that they have asked all their district panels to participate in rescue operations. DCCs will assess the crop loss and send a comprehensive report by Monday.

Senior party leader Palvai Sravanthi Reddy said that she had released a video urging people to keep away from electrical poles.

NSUI president Venkat Balmuri said that their members would be camping in rain-hit areas in Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad and Mulugu districts.
Meanwhile, some party leaders rescued victims trapped in their houses that had collapsed.
