Andhra Pradesh High Court reserves judgment on Navayuga contract
He also informed the HC that they were having contract period up to November 20, 2021.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh High Court reserved its judgment after hearing both the parties including Navayuga and state government on annulling the contract for taking up hydro-electric project at Polavaram in West Godavari here on Tuesday.
The contract agency Navayuga filed a petition in AP High Court on Monday opposing the state government’s move to issue notification on August 14 seeking fresh tenders for taking up the hydro electric project at Polavaram after annulling the contract given earlier to it. Navayuga director Y. Ramesh filed the petition in the High Court.
Navayuga counsel informed the High Court that it was the responsibility of AP Genco to provide them land for taking up hydro electric project and added that as it failed to provide them the necessary land, they failed to take up the project.
He also informed the HC that they were having contract period up to November 20, 2021.
He urged the HC to cancel the notification issued by the AP Genco chief engineer annulling the existing contract with them and seeking fresh bids and allow them to continue to take the project.
However, the advocate general on behalf of the state government informed the HC that there was no progress in execution of the project by the firm.
