Hyderabad: Chairman Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem inspected the ongoing works of Anees ul Gurba Orphanage Home along with R&B officials on Tuesday.  He said the government had already allotted a piece of land belonging to the Roads and Buildings Department for the construction of G+7 storied building with 2 cellars and that they were negotiating for the transfer of another property admeasuring 400 square yards.

The state government had sanctioned Rs 20 crore for the project, he said.

The Rs 20-crore-project was being constructed under grant-in-aid from the government. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had laid down the foundation for this project in 2017 and it was slated to be completed by 2019, but only 25 per cent work was completed so far due to various reasons.

Mr Saleem said the Wakf Board had released Rs 6.5 crore to the R&B Department and more than Rs 2.5 crore would be released tomorrow. He said that there was no shortage of funds and the Board was ready to release funds on demand.

He asked officials of the R&B to complete the project at the earliest because already the work was behind schedule.

He said this complex would be utilised for commercial activities and as accommodation for the orphanage.

Educational institutions and a skill development centre will be established. Mr Saleem said tenders would be invited for the proposed Islamic Cultural Centre.
