Thiruvananthapuram: Anaconda Angela dead

She died due to proliferative haemorrhagic colitis.

Thiruvananthapuram: Angela, a female Green Anaconda, 3.6 metres long and aged 9 years, died at the Zoological gardens here in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

The post- mortem examination conducted at the Centre for Wildlife Studies, State Institute of Animal Diseases, Palode, revealed that she died due to proliferative haemorrhagic colitis

Efforts are on to stuff the Anaconda and  exhibit it at the natural history museum. Seven snakes were brought from the Dehiwala zoo, Sri Lanka in April, 2014.

One snake died due to strangulation by Angela on August 6. Now, five are remaining.
