Parkal bandh by traders a success
The protesters on Tuesday submitted an appeal to the district collector.
Parkal (Warangal): The two-day bandh called in Parkal by traders ended successfully on Tuesday. The bandh, called by the Parkal revenue division Sadhana Committee demanding Parkal be made revenue division headquarters, saw all business establishments, eateries and educational institutions remaining shut.
Congress Parkal constituency in-charge Enagala Venkatram Reddy said the locals have been staging protests since over two weeks but local MLA Challa Dharma Reddy remained unmoved. He demanded the MLA to support the cause.
The protesters on Tuesday submitted an appeal to the district collector. They said that dividing Parkal constituency as part of district reorganisation process will create obstacles to its development.
“If Parkal is not declared as revenue division, the agitations would be intensified,” warned P. Veeraswamy, leader of the local traders’ organisation.
Revenue Division Sadhana Samithi convener R. Narsimharamulu, leaders Sridharcharya, A. Janardhan Rao, S. Srinivasa Chary, the leaders of local traders’ organisation, R. Ashok, T, Venkateshwarlu, G, Venkanna, B, Dayakar, and others participated in the protest.
