Odisha girl in final round of UK contest

She entered the final 5 by successfully crossing four stages in the online competition.

KORAPUT (ODISHA): Anindita Janhavi Suara, a Plus Two student of Bikram Dev Autonomous College at Jeypore in Odisha’s backward Koraput district, has qualified for the final round in an international poetry competition conducted online by the United Kingdom’s Tourism Department. She entered the final 5 by successfully crossing four stages in the online competition.

Ms Suara proceeded towards the concluding round by beating 50 contestants from different countries. She had sent her poems to the UK Tourism Department through social media platform for the competition. Ms Suara said, “I request everyone to vote for me on the Facebook.” The final round is scheduled to be held on September 23 and 24.

“It was a worldwide participation with over 20,000 participants taking part in it. Earlier, I had entered the top 50 and now I’m in top 5 in the final round. I hope to do well in the final phase,” said Ms Suara. “My daughter has interest in writing since her childhood. She started writing poems when she was in Class VI. After I found potential in her, I inspired her to continue writing poems. She is top 5 now and I hope he will emerge winner,” said Anindita’s father Rabindra Kumar Suara.

Recently, another Koraput girl Annie Prince Nag had made the state proud by qualifying for the finale of Miss India Elegant-2017 beauty pageant held in Bengaluru.
