Bengaluru: Speeding minor crashes into auto, kills 1
The speeding car driven by a 15-year-old crashed into the auto, killing the driver, Nagaraj, a resident of Nagashettihalli.
Bengaluru: In a freak accident involving a minor driver, a 47-year-old autorickshaw driver lost his life and his friend seated inside the auto sustained serious injuries on Kalpana Chawla Road in R.T. Nagar on Friday afternoon.
The speeding car driven by a 15-year-old crashed into the auto, killing the driver, Nagaraj, a resident of Nagashettihalli. The injured, Lourdanath (68), was shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital where he is undergoing the treatment.
The rickshaw was parked on the roadside and Nagaraj and his friend Lourdanath were sitting inside talking when the speeding car crashed into the front of the auto around 1.10 pm. The impact overturned the auto, and Nagaraj, who sustained severe injuries, died on the spot, while passersby rushed Lourdanath to a nearby hospital.
A large crowd gathered at the spot and angry public tried to attack the minor boy when he got down from the car. But RT Nagar traffic police, who had rushed to the spot by then, secured the area and took him to the station.
The police said that the minor was driving the car rashly. They have registered a case under IPC Sections 279 (driving in rash and negligent manner), 304(A) (causing death by negligence) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).
