Bengaluru: Student dies in bike accident at KR Puram
Police said the deceased has been identified as Jishmon Joy, a student of C College in K R Puram, and he hailed from Kerala.
BENGALURU: A 21-year-old mechanical engineering student succumbed to injuries in a bike accident, while the rider escaped unhurt, when their bike rammed into median near Hanging Bridge in K R puram traffic police station limits early Thursday.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Jishmon Joy, a student of C College in K R Puram, and he hailed from Kerala. The incident happened around 2 am while he was returning to city along with his friend Abhilash, 23, also a mechanical engineering student of C College.
The duo had hired the bike and when they reached near Hanging Bridge, Abhilash lost control over the vehicle and hit the median. Jishmon fell and his head hit a footpath. As he was not wearing any protective gear he sustained grievous head injuries.
Passersby alerted the police, who rushed Jishmon to Manipal hospital where he succumbed around 6 am. K R Puram police have booked Abhilash under section 304 A IPC causing death due to negligent riding.
