Edappadi K Palaniswami orders release of water from Aliyar reservoir
Palaniswami also appealed the farmers to judiciously use the water.

Chennai: Chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday ordered the release of water from Aliyar reservoir in Coimbatore and Manimutha river in Villupuram districts for irrigation and drinking water purposes. A statement from chief minister said water would be released from the Aliyar reservoir on October 25 and this would benefit irrigation activities carried out along Pollachi canal, Vettaikaranpudur canal and Seththumadai canal benefiting over 22,332 acres.
In case of Manimutha river in Villupuram district the water will be released from Sunday. And this will benefit 5493 acres of farmlands in Villupuram. Palaniswami also appealed the farmers to judiciously use the water.
