Hyderabad: Two-week faculty development programme

About 50 faculty members from 13 states, 16 universities and 32 institutions are set to benefit from the programme.

Hyderabad: A two-week faculty development programme on research methodology using Excel, SPSS and R programming was inaugurated on Sunday at the School of Management Studies at University of Hyderabad. The event was sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education.  

The programme, which began on Sunday will conclude on December 3. About  50 faculty members from 13 states, 16 universities and 32 institutions are set to benefit from the programme. The two-week programme will help participants gain insights into research methodology and receive hands-on practice on Microsoft Excel, SPSS and R programming.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Appa Rao Podile said, “Research helps a teacher a better teacher. Professors should engage themselves in cutting edge research to help students become employable.” 

Prof. B. Raja Shekhar, dean of the school and coordinator of the FDP spoke about the need for FDPs in one’s career. He has emphasised the need for learning and applying new techniques that emerge from time to time.
