Work at Ameerpet Metro station going full throttle
Three times more men and machinery working round-the-clock.
Hyderabad: Finishing works at Ameerpet interchanging station have been amped up. Three times more men and machines are being employed to finish electrical works, cementing works, the laying of tiles and other polishing works at the station.
Electric works are yet to be completed on the staircase side and on the unpaid side of the concourse level. An official working at the ground level says, “Computers for ticketing and tracking were installed only on Sunday. Other electrical works in these sections are yet to be carried out.”
The laying of tiles on the pavement is also underway. The yard next to Ameerpet Station is being utilised to hoist men up so that they may be able to complete polishing works on the railings. Another officer says, “We have another set of men who come and work inside the station area at night. The polishing and finishing of cementing works have to be carried out. Work on the rooftop is also going on, and that will be completed in the next two to three days.”
Machines have been set up inside the compound and on the terraces of business establishments to hoist people and equipment up to the height of the station. There is a constant movement of men in the lift area, the electric cabins, and in the office below the metro station. Lights have been set up so that area does not get very dark. Meanwhile, traffic at the Ameerpet - Panjuagutta Junction is in a state of absolute chaos. Hawkers have set up stalls triple file from the Dharam Karam Road Junction to Big Bazaar.
