Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy faults AP government for stopping stir
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the government for arresting the activists who were fighting for special category status.
ANANTAPUR: YSRC chief and the leader of the opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the government for arresting the activists who were fighting for special category status. Reacting over detaining of activists who were on Chalo Assembly protest across the state, Mr Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instead of fighting for special category status with the Centre was suppressing the movement. “It clearly shows that Mr Naidu has no intention in securing financial packages to the state”, he said.
On 12th day of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Bana-ganapalle in Kurnool district Mr Reddy addressed the public at Hussaina-puram village on Mon-day. “People are ready to teach the government a lesson as it has done nothing for them.” he said. He reiterated that not a single promise made by Mr Naidu in his 2014 election manifesto had been fulfilled. “Promises like loan waiver for Dwacra groups and zero interest loans have been ignored. Women are problems due to the spread of liquor shops and the TD government is only working towards selling more liquor and getting more revenue”, Mr Reddy said.
He added that once the YSRC comes to power, prohibition of liquor would be introduced in four phases and the state will be free from the liquor menace.
He said that the economic status of families would improve only if the children get access to quality education. To enable this, the YSRC would ensure that fee reimbursement scheme is fully implemented, the YSRC chief assured. Single parents who send their wards to schools will be given another Rs 15,000 per student, he said.
Mr Reddy further said that when people’s government is formed, the pension amount would be hiked to Rs 2,000 and the pensionable age for beneficiaries of welfare pensions will be reduced to 45. He said his concept of village secretariat will ensure that every house-less getting a house and every eligible person gets his pension without having to pander to TD-sponsored partisan janmabhoomi committees.
