Chennai: Senior central excise department official to undergo RI for 4 years
According to sources, Chandrasekar was working as Superintendent, Central Excise between January 1, 2011 to April 8, 2015 in Chennai.
Chennai: Special court for CBI cases in Chennai on Tuesday sentenceda senior central excise department official to undergo RI for four years on charges in a disproportionate assets case.Superintendent, Central Excise, Chennai T.Chandrasekar had possessed assets to the tune of Rs 85.38 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to sources, Chandrasekar was working as Superintendent, Central Excise between January 1, 2011 to April 8, 2015 in Chennai. On a complaint, the Anti Corruption Branch of CBI registered a case against him and conducted investigation.
On completion of trial, XIV Additional Special Judge for CBI cases D. Vasanthi convicted Chandrasekar in the case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 4 years.
The judge also imposed him a fine of Rs 3 lakhs and ordered confiscation of his properties to the extent of disproportionate assets.
