Telangana Junior Doctor's Association stated that allowing quacks' to practice medicine is strongly condemned.
Hyderabad: Junior doctors from all government hospitals and colleges staged a sit-in dharna and also abstained themselves from elective duties on Tuesday. The protests were held outside Gandhi, Osmania General Hospitals, Sarojini Devi Eye Hosptial, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and other government colleges in the state.
This decision was taken to register protest against caretaker minister K.T. Rama Rao’s statement on providing training and certification to quacks to extend health services, mostly in rural areas, without any hassles.
Telangana Junior Doctor’s Association stated that allowing ‘quacks’ to practice medicine is strongly condemned. They demanded total abolition of quackery in the state. They also demanded that the government must recruit qualified doctors in public health centres and community health centres to provide healthcare in rural areas.
