SPG reviews security for Sonia, Rahul Gandhi to address public meet

Hyderabad: The Special Protection Group (SPG) which guards UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and AICC president Rahul Gandhi has inspected the security arrangements made by Cyberabad police at the ground in Medchal, where the duo is scheduled to address a public meeting on Friday.
An 11-member team of SPG has reportedly inspected the place on Monday and gave an Advanced Security Liaison report to the Cyberabad police to make necessary changes in the arrangements being made. A police official said, “The SPG has asked to ensure separate blocks for women attending the public meeting and also for the party leaders. They have suggested placing barricades at a distance to prevent the public entering the sensitive area.”
Cyberabad DCP (traffic) S.M. Vijay Kumar and Balanagar DCP P.V. Padmaja along with officials from SPG and the security wing also reviewed the arrangements on Tuesday. The necessary changes and the route map would be released on Wednesday, said the officer.
