Bhopal: Pregnant daughter of a tribal BJP MLA of Madhya Pradesh was ‘made to wait’ for around 12 hours in a government hospital where she was taken for delivery, forcing the lawmaker to shift her to a private hospital. MLA from Vijaypur in Sheopur district, Sitaram Adivasi, admitted his daughter in the district hospital at Sheopur for delivery on Monday.

Doctors in the hospital, however, referred her to another government hospital citing absence of the specialist doctor at the time, Adivasi told reporters on Wednesday.

Adivasi later shifted his daughter to a private hospital where she gave birth to a baby girl by normal delivery.

Later, the government ordered a magisterial probe into the incident. A probe team headed by local sub-divisional magistrate Rupesh Upadhyaya on Wednesday visited the hospital for inquiry.
