Kochi Biennale Foundation to have government nominees
KBF prez agrees to suggestion without objection.
Kochi: The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF), the probate trust conducting the Kochi Muziris Biennale, will have government nominees in it. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with the founder trustees of KBF here on Wednesday.
This newspaper had on Wednesday reported that the government was planning to tighten its grip over the conduct of the biennale and the Biennale Foundation. The Chief Minister suggested the need for government nominees in view of the government funding for the biennale. Sources said that KBF president Bose Krishnamachari agreed to the suggestion without objections. The government was planning to convert the KBF into a society but dropped the plan as the founder trustees agreed for the inclusion of government nominees.
