The notice was issued to the superintendent of Osmania Hospital and the principal secretary of medical and health department.

Meanwhile, relatives of the 21-year-old deceased woman who was attacked by rats were asked to visit DME in Koti to provide copies of the complaint.

“Afzalgunj police saw to it that the postmortem examination was done and the body was handed over to us,” N. Karan, a relative of deceased U. Madhu said.
Hospital Superintendent Dr B. Nagender said a departmental inquiry into the incident has been initiated. Hospital officials claimed that the incident took place due to the negligence of workers, who failed to lock the storage unit properly.

Talking about why Madhu had committed suicide, police said “Madhu had married a GHMC worker four years ago and lived in Mangaar Basti. She had been showing signs of mental instability after she lost her first child.”

Madhu committed suicide by hanging herself at her house on Monday.
Police said there was no complaint of harassment or any such issue by the family.

The hospital superintendent’s office said the authorities were renovating the R&D ward for now with the funds it had received.
