HYDERABAD: A person from Mahbubnagar district is stranded in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia after being duped by travel agents.
According to the family of the man, Mohammad Jamal, a native of Mahbubnagar went to Riyadh after obtaining a visa for Rs 85,000 from Neda Travel Agency in Mumbai. He left on October 24 after being assured a job of a delivery boy cum driver and a salary of 1,300 Saudi Riyal.
However, the employer assigned him the job of a gardener. “When my son refused to do it, he was abused and tortured by the employer. The latter is demanding SR 3,000 and a flight ticket to send him back to India. The demand was fulfilled yet the Saudi employer is not sending my son to India,” the mother of the man said.
His health is deteriorating and the Mumbai agent is not responding. Kindly interfere in this matter and ask the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to help release my son as soon as possible, the woman appealed.
