5 villages in Jaggaiahpeta mandal chosen for the purpose.
Vijayawada: Five villages in Jaggaiahpeta mandal are ready to script history in digital survey, in the state. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had directed the revenue department to match the ground-level survey records with the Google Satellite pictures so that the future records or transactions will be based on these digital records. Jaggaiahpeta mandal has been chosen for implementation of the pilot project on this.
Takkellapadu, Sher Mohammed Peta, Annavaram, Gowaravaram, Vedadri will be part of the pilot project. The VAOs and VROs of these villages have been trained for the project. They have been directed to match the Google Satellite pictures and the original physical records. They have to identify the differences and verify at the ground-level and then change them. They have to see the borders and the exact measurement of each survey number.
Next week, the first meeting with the local people would be held in Takkellapadu. There the officials and the project staff will explain the local people about the project. With the help of local villagers, they will start the resurvey to match with Google Satellite pictures. Work on the project will begin in the other four villages also in a phased manner.
The tahsildar of Jaggaiahpeta, Ch. Narasimharao, has told Deccan Chronicle that they had done homework on it and are getting into the actual work now. He said that, “We have planned for meetings in the villages on Dec. 22. However, they have been postponed to Dec. 26 after which the work will be accelerated. We hope, the work will be completed as per the schedule,”
He opined that this project is very useful for the future proceedings and transactions in the revenue department. By this month ending, all the five villages will have to complete their ground work. Then the project would be extended to the entire Jaggaiahpeta mandal. The state government’s actual target to complete the project in the entire state is March, 2018 and this is not likely to happen. It may take 2-3 more months.
