Hyderabad: A ten-month-old baby was diagnosed with swine flu and seven other cases were in the city on Saturday, taking the total number to 32 in January. Three patients were undergoing treatment in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.
Health minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy visited NIMS, spoke with a 35-year-old patient from Jadcherla and reviewed the situation of patients.
Nims and Gandhi Hospital are the two government centres where the treatment of swine flu is being carried out.
There has been an increase the number of swine flu cases due to the cold winds at night and early morning and movement of people between cities and towns during the holidays. Doctors advised that cough hygiene must be maintained and proper hand washing must be carried out as a part of prevention.
