High Court throws out AP plea, NIA to hear Jagan case
The AP government had filed a petition in the High Court to stop the NIA continuing the probe into the murder attack case.
Vijayawada: The AP High Court on Monday struck down a plea by the state government seeking cancellation of the probe by the National Investigation Agency into the attack on YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The AP government had filed a petition in the High Court to stop the NIA continuing the probe into the murder attack case. The High Court on Monday struck down the plea by the state government, and the Court ordered the Union government to file a counter by January 30.
The Court also ordered the NIA to furnish before the court all the details with respect to the investigation till now. On Saturday, the AP High Court rejected the House motion petition. This came as a major jolt to the ruling TD which wanted to halt the NIA probe.
The court also asserted there was no urgency to inquire into the petition filed by the AP government. The YSRC president’s advocate had earlier said that the ruling government had filed a petition with the intention of obstructing the NIA probe.
