Hyderabad: Consumer forum has asked Sri Sri Homes Private Limited to pay Rs 1,10,000 in compensation to Mr P. Madhu, a city resident, for delay in registering a plot and not starting construction even five years after installments were paid.
The firm has developed a layout at Kunoor village in Nalgonda Yadadri district. The said land was developed into plots.
Complainant Mr Madhu purchased a plot on installment basis. He was told the plot costs Rs 1,25,000 per 150 sq yards and he had to pay Rs 7,000 towards registration charges. He paid his first installment in 2009 was a sum of Rs 10,000.
Even after five years, he found no progress with registration of the plot or construction on it. He contends he paid registration charges as well. In spite of receiving the amount, the firm did not register the plot while value of land kept increasing.
The firm also did not turn up for hearings of the forum despite serving notices. The forum noted that since it was not executing the sale deed in the complainant’s favour, des-pite several specific requests and notices, it awarded compensation for unfair trade practices and deficiency in service. It was directed to pay Rs 1,10,000 to the complainant.registration charges
