Stalls by students on protection of environment mark Gangamma Jatara
WARANGAL: To mark the annual Gangamma Jatara, the students of Government Girls High School of Sircilla, in association with Agastya Foundation, set up various stalls on the shores of Manair River to create awareness among the people about the protection of the environment and the importance of clean and hygienic surroundings, in Rajanna-Sircilla district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the school headmaster Dr Ch. Srinivas said that to provide practical knowledge to the students and also create awareness among the people about various aspects like science and its uses in our everyday life, protection of the environment, deficiency diseases caused by the lack of vitamins and minerals in one’s diet over a prolonged period, were established at the shores of the Manair river.
Scores of people from various places, who visited the Gangamma Jatara, also enthusiastically went through the stalls set up by the students, who explained to them the exhibits on various topics.
The members of the foundation Prashanth Kumar, Nandini, Rajeshwar and several students took place in the programme.
