Benny ehanan likens CPM to Pakistan
This government is preaching homicide and not renaissance or modern Kerala which it claims, the UDF convener said.
Kochi: UDF convener Benny Behanan has likened the CPM to Pakistan, comparing the Periya and Pulawama incidents, saying both commit crimes and then say that they have no role in it.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that with the murder of the two Youth Congress workers at Periya, the LDF Government is celebrating its 1000 days in office showering blood on the head of people. “Murders happen at regular intervals. This government is preaching homicide and not renaissance or modern Kerala which it claims,” the UDF convener said.
Benny Behnan said that the approach of CPM to encourage murderers and glorify them begets violence and murders in the state. “The CPM is undertaking Taliban model murders in the state,” he said.
He demanded that the conspirators in the Periya murder too should be nabbed. “CPM is trying to destroy evidence in this case too. The weapons that police has recovered were not used for comminting the crime. Any purposeful inquiry on conspiracy will lead to Kannur.” He also came down on the reported statement of LDF convener A Vijayaraghavan against the visit of Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan to the houses of the victims.
To a question, he said that UDF’s seat talks will start in Kochi on February 26. He said that he will abide by any decision of the high command on contesting the elections. He also said that the wedding of his daughter and the reception scheduled for Sunday in Kochi will be held as a low-key affair and the money saved will be donated to the families of the Periya victims.
