Vijayawada: A day after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made controversial remarks on the Pulwama incident and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government, the BJP on Thursday demanded that a suo motu case be filed against the TD national president. BJP leader and former chief secretary I.Y.R Krishna Rao met state Governor E.S.L Narasimhan on the issue.

“It is very sad and objectionable that Mr Naidu passed highly irresponsible, undemocratic, unethical and anti-nationalistic remarks and allegations against Narendra Modi, regarding the attack on para-military forces at Lathpora, Pulwama district, J & K by the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group while addressing his Telugu Desam leaders through video conference on Tuesday, February 19 2019. Addressing TD leaders, Mr Naidu stated that the doubts expressed by West Bengal Chief Mini-ster Mamata Banerjee, who doubted the timing of the Pulwama attack and linked it with Narendra Modi as if it was his game plan, could not be ruled out. Naidu not only endorsed the remarks and allegations of Mamata Banerjee but also rem-arked that Mr Modi would go to any extent for political mileage. He referred to the Godhra incident in support of his remarks,” Krishna Rao said in a memorandum submitted to the Governor.

Mr Rao added that such remarks and allegations at this juncture of crucial national security and sovereignty are highly unwarranted and anti-nationalistic. “Such anti-nationalistic expressions will implant the seeds of disintegration among people and jeopardise national security and sovereignty at a time when the whole country has to stand united to protect its sovereignty. It pains us to state that these anti- nationalistic remarks  made by Naidu are nothing short of sedition and an attempt to disintegrate the country,” he said.

In view of the severity of the remarks and allegations made by Chandrababu Naidu and the resultant threat to national security and sovereignty, we demand that a suo moto case be filed against him,” he said.
