Three girls go missing after attending friend\'s birthday function in Trimulgherry

Hyderabad: Three teenage girls including a Class X student have gone missing after attending a birthday function of their friend in Sikh Village in Trimulgherry on Tuesday.

The girls, all residents of Trimulgherry, left their houses at 5 pm and informed their parents that they were going to attend one of the girls birthday party in Sikh Village and went missing from there. Their parents searched for them with all their friends and relatives until midnight but their whereabouts were not known, police said.

“I called one of the girl’s mobile numbers and spoke to my daughter. She said soon they would return. Until 11 pm, they maintained that they were at a friend’s house and will return soon but after 12 they switched off their mobile phones. We grew suspicious and I lodged a missing complaint with the police, one of the girl’s father said.

“We have registered a missing case based on a complaint. Special teams have been formed to trace the girls,” Trimulgherry police inspector B. Sravan Kumar said. The special teams are going through CCTV footage in Sikh Village and the area where the trio reside. They are safe with their other friends and will be back soon, a police officer assured.
