All groups will remain united: Oommen Chandy
The chief minister said Sudheeran's poll eve criticism would not affect UDF's electoral prospects.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said all groups “A” and “I” in Congress will remain united till elections. When asked about the combined meeting held at Information Minister K C Joseph’s official residence here, the chief minister said that all Congressmen were working unitedly and tirelessly for the victory of UDF.
On whether the meeting was aimed at isolating KPCC president V M Sudheran who was trying to target the dominant factions, Chandy said there were no differences in the party and all leaders wanted to ensure victory of the UDF. The chief minister said Sudheeran's poll eve criticism would not affect UDF's electoral prospects.
On refusal of actor KPAC Lalitha to contest as LDF candidate citing health reasons and whether the Congress was also facing crisis of candidates, the chief minister said his party had no dearth of candidates. “We have highly efficient, dedicated and popular prospective candidates across the state. In fact we have problem of plenty,” he said.
