Chennai: E. Madhusudhanan, former minister and rebel AIADMK camp’s R.K. Nagar candidate lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday saying that he had received death threats from his political rivals and asked for armed police protection.

In his petition given to Chennai police and state DGP he had stated that on Monday some suspicious looking people were roaming around his house in R.K. Nagar. When one of his assistants went and made enquiries, the men reportedly asked him to tell Madhusudhanan not to contest against T.T.V. Dhinakaran and if he went ahead with the plan, they would finish him off.

The senior politician, in his complaint, also noted that Dhinakaran, now deputy generally secretary of AIADMK, is harbouring political animosity against him. He further asked for armed police to guard him till the R.K. Nagar election is over.
