Six leaders from Congress, Telugu Desam move to TRS fold

After joining the TRS, Mr Nageswara Rao said he had switched sides for the development of the state.

Hyderabad:  Several Telugu Desam and Congress leaders including Telugu Desam senior leader and former MP Nama Nageswara Rao joined the TRS on Thursday. Along with Mr Nageswara Rao, the others who joined the TRS in the presence of party working president K.T. Rama Rao were TD state vice-presidents M. Amaranth Babu and Swarnakumari, general secretary Atluri Ramadevi, Khammam district TD president T. Brahmayya, Manchiryal TD president J, Sharat Babu.

After joining the TRS, Mr Nageswara Rao said he had switched sides for the development of the state. He said the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was needed for the development of the state and the welfare of the people. He said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had taken up several programmes relating to drinking water and irrigation projects and had initiated several welfare schemes. Attracted by these schemes, he has joined the TRS.

Among those who joined the ruling party in Mr Rama Rao’s presence were former Shadnagar MLA Pratap Reddy and the party’s Chunnur Assembly nominee N. Venkat.
