Santhosha Rao takes charge as APSPDCL CMD

TIRUPATI: K.Santhosha Rao took over as chairman and managing director of  Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited on Friday at the Discom's headquarters in Tirupati.

Speaking to the media shortly after taking office, the CMD expressed gratitude to AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, energy minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, and special chief secretary of energy department K. Vijayanand for entrusting the duties of CMD to him. He said that he will strive to strengthen the IT wing of SPDCL for providing quality services to consumers.

Claiming that the SPDCL will regularly carry out energy audits to prevent energy losses, the CMD assured that the Discom would work hard to provide a nine-hour uninterrupted power supply to farmers, and quality power supply to industries and consumers. “The company will give priority to providing quality power to consumers besides taking measures
to control energy losses,” he added.

He added that the company has been providing service connections to farmers without any delay, and as many as 65,207 agriculture connections were released in the past six months, benefitting thousands of farmers. SPDCL director (Finance) V.S. Babu, chief general managers D.S. Vara Kumar, Sh. Rasheed, V. Suresh Kumar, Y.  Lakshmi Narasaiah and others were present.
